At Vertical Performance Systems, LLC we have numerous cutting edge state of the art projects under way in the "Skunk Works" including new engine development, drive train redesign, new main and tail rotor system development. Vertical Performance Systems, LLC has become the industry source in supplying the Experimental helicopter builder/owner with products that improve the safety and reliability of their flying machines.

All work performed at Vertical Performance Systems, LLC is performed by our on-staff FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics or under the direct supervision of our on-staff FFA certified A&P mechanics.

Our motto at Vertical Performance Systems, LLC is "We don't want to re-invent the wheel, we just want to make the wheel better"

At Vertical Performance Systems, LLC we have looked at every system on several of the most popular experimental helicopters and have come up with solutions to some of the most common issues that builders and owners experience.

Vertical Performance Systems, LLC is heavily involved in developing a new engine package for the Experimental aircraft industry that will increase reliability, power, and performance in these aircraft.

The new Vertical Performance Systems, LLC engine for Experimental helicopters will incorporate new roller rockers that need only to be checked for adjustment every 100 hours instead of every 25 hours that the stock rockers require.

This index page gives a brief description of each of the Vertical Performance Systems, LLC products now available for purchase. Our goal is to make owning, maintaining, and flying your experimental helicopter a much better experience for you.

The oil tank sump must be vented so that moisture in the oil can escape and the engine can breathe. The stock configuration vents this oil mist all over the engine compartment and drive belts. Vertical Performance, LLC oil tank vent cap directs this oil mist and moisture overboard where it cannot create problems.
The VP, LLc main rotor blade aluminum end plugs are a much better solution to capping off the hollow end of the Rotorway main rotor blades that the standard wooden end plugs
The VP, LLc Aluminum extended skids with itegral steel insert reinforcements on both sides are a must for your Rotorway 162F, Exec, and Exec 90

Vertical Performance Systems, LLC "Skunk Works" is captializing on the many years of custom race engine design and building of our engineers and technitions to produce the next generation of engines for the experimental helicopter market.

Also we have included a discussion and VIDEOS of the VP cog belt tensioner compared with the Factory cog belt tensioner in action-- YOU DECIDE

VPS, LLc custom fabricates Ceramic coated Steel heat sheilds for your experimental helicopter engine.
VP, LLc can rebuild, repair, or we can totally build your Rotorway tailboom for you. We have the jigging and the experience to do the job right.
Vertical Performance Systems, LLC is aware of at least two cog belt drive breaks of the Pro-Drive and the AP design systems. We believe we have the solution to the problem and have posted that information and have a number of owners testing our new design. For more info on this click the photo to go to that page.
Vertical Performance Systems, LLC is now offering our own exhaust gaskets for your Experimental helicopter engine. With steel upper and lower surfaces, these gaskets are designed to last!

Vertical Performance Systems, LLC has been asked to develop a better cog belt and tensioner system than those available to date. This request was by both Orv and Larry who experienced the in-flight cog belt failure. We have worked with the belt manufacturer to come up with what we feel is the best cog belt and tensioner combo for the application in the Experimental Helicopters. We currently have several of these systems under flight testing and so far we have had excellent results. Our Cog belt has a much higher HP rating than that currently being offered by other vendors.

The premier project that Vertical Performance Systems, LLC has been working on is the new Turbocharged/Intercooled next generarion aviation engine. We have based this engine on the existing castings of the experimental helicopter engine but all internal components have been replaced with state-of-the-art components that have been manufactured exclusively for Vertical Performance Systems, LLC and for which we own all intellectual property rights. The Fuel tank outlet fittings that are installed on the Exec 162F helicopters can fall out in flight- you can imagine the consequences of this. VP, LLc makes a simple fix that Orv Neisingh designed for these fittings that can easily be installed on both fuel tanks while they are still on the ship. For more information on this very important modification that every 162F should have installed click the photo to the right. These fittings are inexpensive and can be ordered from VP, LLc.
Our new Dyno is up and running. We have also posted some of our dyno run results of horsepower and torque. To view photos of the engine and dyno and to read the updates click on the photo to the right.
VPS has partnered with an major ECU manufacturer to develop truely dual redundant computer electronic control modules for the helicopter and fixed wing engine market. For more info click on the photo to the right.
